Coach Rüdiger Ziehl’s team defeated Dynamo Dresden 2-0 (2-0) and surpassed the Saxons in the table.
Saarbrücken is now fourth, Dresden is right behind in fifth place. Both have 56 points on the account.
Adriano Grimaldi (28′) and Richard Neudecker (45′) scored the winning goals before the break.
While SV Elversberg (66 points) has already rushed to the top of the table, the race behind is completely open. SV Wehen Wiesbaden (59) is second, SC Freiburg II, who have the same number of points and cannot be promoted, is third.
