The AS Rome presented Wesley from Flamengo as a fourth newcomer. For the 21 -year -old right -back, who signed a contract in Rome until 2030, 25 million euros will flow towards Brazil, making it the most expensive purchase of this summer of Giallorossi. If Wesley is struck and all bonuses are reached, the transfer would increase to EUR 30 million – a sum that was only exceeded six times in the Roma.
Wesley debut in December 2021 at the age of 18 for the Flamengo professional. This was followed by 135 other games in which he was involved in ten goals. Among other things, he won the Brazilian trophy and the Copa Libertadores 2022 with the team from Rio de Janeiro.
For the time being, Wesley ends up fourth in the most expensive departures in Flamengo’s club history. In front of him are Vinicius Junior (45 million, Real Madrid), Lucas Paquetá (38.4 million, Milan) and Reinier (30 million, Real Madrid). The two -time national player is the 48th Brazilian who wears the AS Rome jersey – but in the current squad he is the only one. Before him, big names such as Alisson, Marquinhos or Cafu were used for the Giallorossi.
