The hurdler says that he is more refreshed in Saturday’s race in Kuortane than he was in Turku on Tuesday.

Last Wednesday in Jyväskylä, the Tampere native set a new 100-meter hurdles Finnish record of 12.70.
Mono was not eating as fiercely last Tuesday at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku. Hurske ran 12.92 in the heats and 12.97 in the finals. He was fifth in the final race.

Was it mental or physical fatigue?
– The Finnish record was a long time in the making. There was certainly mental fatigue in Turku, but the competition in Jyväskylä was quite tough physically as well. It took time to recover, Hurske answers.
– After Turku, I have felt much calmer and more rested, he adds.
The Tampere Pyrinnö athlete was one of the early favorites in the big international 100-meter hurdles competition in Turku for the first time in his career.
– I didn’t think that there was any pressure from that setup. Of course, they started chasing the win, but the leg just didn’t move enough.
A favorite in Kuortane

The 28-year-old oarsman has been a noted athlete in the domestic sports public since the end of the 2010s, but interest in the woman has grown significantly with the Halli era European championship and the recent Finnish record.
– Publicity is not terribly stressful. I don’t know if I have anything special to say at media events – the same things are repeated day after day, Hurske smiles.
– It’s nice that there is attention. It belongs to this profession, he specifies.
On Saturday, Hurske competes in Kuortane. The women’s 100m hurdles is the final race of the event. It starts at 19:45.
Based on the statistics, Hurske is a clear early favorite. Other strong athletes in advance are from France Solène Ndama (record 12.77 and season’s best 13.13), Italian Elisa Maria Di Lazzaro (12.90 and 13.04) and his record 12.99 Swept in Turku Lotta Harala.
Nooralotta Neziri and Annimari Korte are not included.
