In the Australian Open, the first grand slam tennis tournament of the season, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the number 2 seed in women’s singles, reached the final by beating the number 4 seed Coco Gauff of the USA, 2-0.
In the women’s singles semi-final match on the 12th day of the tournament held in Melbourne, the last champion Sabalenka and last year’s US Open champion Gauff met.
Sabalenka, who beat her opponent 2-0 with sets of 7-6 and 6-4 in the fight that lasted one hour and 42 minutes, reached the final of the Australian Open for the second time in a row.
Sabalenka’s opponent, who did not lose a set until the final, will be the winner of the match between Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska and Chinese Qinwen Zheng.
