Art, theater and installations: events not to be missed in Milan, Turin, Rome and Bergamo

AND a real novelty Cecco del Caravaggio. The Model Student, the exhibition hosted in the recently renovated spaces dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the Bergamo Academy. Why Francesco Boneri (Cecco) is still a mysterious figure in the Lombard artistic panoramanot easily attributable to the canons of the time.

It is recognizable as a model in some paintings by Merisi (St. John the Baptist, Conversion of St. Paul), but as a painter he reworks his teachings in a nonconformist, hyper-realist and radical way.

The itinerary offers around forty works, 19 of which are autographed paintings (of the 25 attributed to him) which are flanked by paintings by artists who inspired Cecco’s work, such as Caravaggio and Gian Gerolamo Savoldo, and his contemporaries, Valentin de Boulogne, Bartolomeo Mendozzi and Pedro Núñez del Valle.

Pop innkeeper

Good at business and courted by all. Come back The innkeeper by Carlo Goldoni, comedy directed by Corrado d’Elia. An unconventional direction, with bright colors and gaudy scenes, which rewrites a classic by accelerating the rhythms and projecting Mirandolina into a plastic world, fake like the artifices of the characters.

A scene from the show “The Innkeeper”

On stage Corrado d’Elia, Chiara Salvucci, Marco Brambilla, Tino Danesi, Daniele Ornatelli, Gianni Quillico, Andrea Tibaldi.

Theater in Rome

But you… do you know Naples? is a show written and directed by Rino Margiasso. Among anecdotes, popular legends, memorable characters, the story is inspired by the four historic gates of the city – Nolana, Capuana, San Gennaro and Alba – and combines the narrative with lots of beautiful music.
