Fire in a cable duct of the S-Bahn. Was it an attack?
In the early evening at around 5:30 p.m., the Berlin fire brigade and the federal police were alerted to the railway line on Lynnarstrasse in Berlin-Wedding.
The fire was out before the fire department arrived, but the damage is still high. In addition, the S-Bahn traffic between Beusselstraße and Gesundbrunnen had to be interrupted. Lines S41, S42 and S85 are affected. The S46 was able to resume train services around 9 p.m.
According to initial findings, a possible attack cannot be ruled out. Forensic technicians from the LKA Berlin secured the traces at the scene of the fire in the evening. It was not yet known when S-Bahn traffic would be back to normal.
