Just two years ago, Christos Tzolis was almost the promotion hero of Fortuna Düsseldorf and moved to Club Brugge in Belgium after missing his Bundesliga dream. While his former club will compete in the third division next year, the Greek could be drawn to the English champions. According to “The Athletic”, Arsenal FC is trying to make a transfer.

Tzolis contributed 22 goals and seven assists to Fortuna in 2023/24 and was recommended for the move to Bruges, which brought Düsseldorf 6.5 million euros. In the Jupiler Pro League, the winger seamlessly continued his form and scored 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 games in two years. His market value subsequently rose from 10 million to 40 million euros – making him currently the most valuable player in the league.
This development has not gone unnoticed by Arsenal; according to the report, the Gunners are considering a deal. According to reports, a transfer fee in line with market value is considered realistic, which would be a new club record for Bruges. So far, Charles De Ketelaere is the most expensive sale with his move to AC Milan for 37.5 million euros.
In a recent interview with “Het Nieuwsblad” he confirmed that Tzolis would not turn down a move to a top club: “There will probably be a lot of interest, but I feel comfortable here. (…) It has to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain or Italy. Or, well, if PSG comes knocking, I’ll probably go there too, right? (laughs) Then I say I love France. But only PSG is a better option than Club Brugge in France. There might be a few more opportunities in the Premier League.”
