Fourth win without conceding a goal and the youngest player in the history of the premier class: Arsenal FC continues to impress in the Champions League. Coach Mikel Arteta’s team, with 15-year-old Max Dowman, who came on as a substitute in the second half, won confidently at Slavia Prague 3-0 (1-0) and is currently leading the Champions League with twelve points ahead of the duel with FC Bayern in three weeks.

Dowman, who set a record starting eleven for the Gunners in the EFL Cup last weekend, replaced ex-Dortmunder Youssoufa Moukoko as the youngest player in the premier class when he came on in the 73rd minute. At 15 years, ten months and four days, Dowman was 75 days earlier than the DFB talent, who made his first appearance against Zenit St. Petersburg (2-1) in December 2020 at 16 years and 18 days.

Spain’s European champion Mikel Merino made the decision for Arsenal with two goals (46th/68th minute) in the second half. England striker Bukayo Saka (32nd) had previously given the Gunners the lead with a converted hand penalty. Slavia Prague, on the other hand, remained harmless; only their own fans, shirtless, caused a stir in Prague in November.
