The Austrian retailer Leder & Schuh AG (LSAG) gets a new boss. On Monday, the company based in Graz, which operates the chains Humanic and Shoe4you, announced the appointment of Armin Weger as the new CEO. In this role he replaces Wolfgang Neussner, who returns to the Supervisory Board after the end of his board work.
“After challenging times in trade, we were able to further expand our market position in 2024 with the opening of 14 locations in Austria and grow accordingly,” said Neussner in a statement. “Now it is time to devote myself to my original role as a supervisory board.”
The new CEO comes from Engelhorn
Weger was last Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the German clothing dealer Engelhorn, who only announced the farewell of the manager the day before. The previous career stations of the 52-year-old retail expert are “shaped by transformation successes, strategic brand development and innovative strength in the Omnichannel retail,” said his new employer in a message.
Weger outlined his main goals as CEO: “In the past, Humanic and Shoe4you have already successfully intensified and expand their industrial partnerships. We look forward to consistently continuing this path together with our partners and developing the cooperation strategically,” he said, according to a message. He also sees “great opportunities in the sports, performance and premium area for Leder & Schuh AG, to further develop these fields with innovative strength, clear strategy and a strong team idea”. In particular, the German market “offers considerable potential to further establish humanic and grow in a targeted manner,” emphasized Weger.
