Nissinen, known for his outspoken statements, gave a statement to the media on Thursday in which he compared Vantaa’s Hakunila to Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. Before his statement, Nissi was asked how much he would rather compete in the Tour in Italy than in Vantaa.
– I would rather ski here a hundred times than in Mogadishu, Finland. It can be a bit of a culture shock for the Norwegians, the skier announced.
Alizad supports Nissi Instagramin their stories, which can be seen 24 hours after publication. He is surprised by the uproar caused by Nissinen’s sentence.
– Brighton Beach can be a little Odessa (there are Russians, Jews and Ukrainians), Houston can have Little Lagos, Lahti can be Chicago, Seattle can have Chinatown, Los has Koreatown. But Vantaa cannot be Mogadishu because of racism, Alizad wonders.
– Racism lives so deeply in the liberals that they themselves don’t see it, he adds.

Alizad sends a message to Nissi who is in the middle of the commotion.
– Vilma Nissinen, don’t worry about these idiots and the craziness of the moment. You have nothing to apologize for. I, too, would rather ski in the alpine sun a hundred times than in Mogadishu, Finland – or little Odessa or Seattle’s Chinatown, Alizad states.
– There are a huge number of immigrants, native Finns and especially just Finns who support us, he adds.
The Finnish Skiing Federation sent a press release on Friday, in which it resigned from the national team skier’s statement. Nissinen’s statement does not represent the position, values or operating principles of the Ski Association, and the association does not accept racism in any form.
On the same day, Nissinen apologized for his statement in the Finnish Ski Association’s press release.
– The comment I gave right after the competition was inappropriate and inappropriate. I sincerely apologize for that, he said.
