It has been a point of discussion for years: wages in the Netherlands rise sufficiently with the high lifestyle costs? Trade unions do not say, wages rose much less fast than inflation. But employers warn. The Netherlands will soon lose its competitive position. Moreover: prices do not rise precisely because of wages rise?
Time to get the figures and economic laws again. Could the wages be able to go up a bit? What are the risks and what are the potential benefits? How much is our work compared to other countries? And how is it possible that large staff shortages do not automatically increase wages? Is the Dutch economy, which partly leans on low -paid work and industries, not need a major change?
