Are Inter pulling out of Pavard transfer poker?

A few days before the end of the change period, Benjamin Pavard’s future is still not clear. The Frenchman, who is willing to change, is said to have long since agreed on a transfer with Inter Milan, but FC Bayern blocked the deal. Are the Italians now blowing everything off for their part?

FC Bayern does not want to give up Benjamin Pavard without first having found an adequate replacement. Head coach Thomas Tuchel emphasized at the press conference before the Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg on Friday: “I’m relaxed. I’ll continue to work professionally with Benji. If things change, it’s up to us to find a replacement at short notice.”

According to the 49-year-old, Pavard only submitted his change request “very late” to those responsible for Bayern. The offer from Inter Milan was only recently received in Munich. “There is also the timing side,” emphasized Tuchel.

Time for Inter Milan is running out

Slowly but also the time for the Italian top club should be running out, which for its part would love to complete the transfer plans for this summer in a timely manner. And so, more and more alternatives to Benjamin Pavard are now coming into focus for the Milanese.

After the Dutchman Peer Schuurs from FC Torino was said to have been an issue at Inter, the club has now been offered a second, much cheaper defender, according to the portal “FCInterNews”: Federico Baschirotto from Lecce.

While FC Bayern are reportedly demanding around 30 million euros for Pavard and FC Turin even want 35 million euros for Schuurs, the market value of 26-year-old Baschirotto is a moderate eight million euros. According to the report, the Inter plan could now be: sign Baschirotto this season and Pavard for the next – then the Frenchman would be available on a free transfer.

Pavard is absent from Bayern Munich training again

Benjamin Pavard, meanwhile, missed another Bayern Munich training session on Friday. The 27-year-old had previously been accused of working listlessly and thus forcing a change.

Tuchel hinted: “I can understand that he’s personally struggling with his situation. I know that, and it’s not the first player who only has his own will and his own situation in mind. We don’t take it personally, that s all good.”

According to “Bild”, Pavard was absent on Friday afternoon due to back problems. Most recently, he had already been absent due to illness, as the club emphasized.
