Arco Gnocchi has been an Ajax supporter for about 35 years now and 2025 was certainly not one of his best years. “It was a year full of hope,” he says. “Short intense hope and then a lot of heels of boots that stamped on my Ajax heart. But the nightmare now seems to be fairly over.”
Ajax celebrated its 125th anniversary this year, about which Gnocchi also wrote a book. Other than that, there wasn’t much to look back on. “It’s a bit like Feyenoord to take the won Classic as a highlight, but that’s it,” he laughs.
