Roberto Carlos was on holiday in his country and underwent a check-up for pain in his leg: they diagnosed a small blood clot. Subsequent tests revealed that his heart was not functioning properly. “Now I’m fine and I’m under close observation,” said Roberto Carlos, after surgery to insert a stent. The operation was supposed to last 40 minutes, but was extended to nearly three hours due to a complication. He will now remain under observation for another 48 hours before starting rehabilitation.
