‘Aran Bade takes Gordon drama too seriously’

René van der Gijp thinks that reporter Aran Bade in RTL Boulevard talks with a very straight face about the riot around Gordon and his ex-fiancé Gavin Rozario. “Dead serious!”

It has been about nothing else in the Dutch showbiz media for a week and a half: the controversial split between Gordon and his ex-fiancé Gavin Rozario. This Australian lad is on the cover of the weekly magazine Privé today, to which he has given an eight-page interview. Eight pages long, controversial.

‘Goddamn*mme’

The men of Today Inside spoke yesterday evening, when that interview had not yet been published, briefly about Gordon. “Hey, that Gavin didn’t work at that Burberry shop, it turned out”, Wilfred Genee joked.

Colleague René van der Gijp: “God damn*mme.”

Wilfred: “That also shocked you when you heard that, didn’t you? Isn’t it unbelievable?”

René: “Those are also problems, aren’t they, of course. Then you have that Aran Bade at RTL Boulevard, who has been put on it.”

Laugh at Aran

The men then have a good laugh at the zealous way in which Aran reports on the Gordon riot. Wilfred: “He puts all his time into it.”

René: “He is on Gordon for 24 hours. He has contact with everyone.”

Johan Derksen then with his tiresome standard joke: “Better that he is on Gordon than on me.”

‘Take it seriously’

René finds it funny that Aran takes everything so seriously. “I think, but I’m not entirely sure, he takes it very seriously. He is wagging every evening at RTL Boulevard, of course, he is so happy that he is there. But he’s in touch with everyone, isn’t he?”

He continued mockingly: “He is in contact with Gavin, he is in contact with Gavin’s sister, he is in contact with Gordon and Gordon’s sister. They are both upset about it.”

‘Be made great’

René: “At Boulevard they make it really big, while I don’t think anyone is interested. Nobody gives a shit.”

Wilfred: “That’s why you have to laugh hard about it, you know.”

René: “Yes, it is being made so big!”

Wilfred: “Yes, and one of those Evert Santegoeds who says: ‘We have put our editors on it: Gavin does not work at Burberry.’”

‘Tired of Gordon’

Johan: “They see it as a first, but I think everyone is so tired of Gordon that no one sleeps a minute shorter.”

René: “That’s why it’s so nice when you’re watching that Aran Bade, because he’s really telling it as if he wants to say: ‘Come on over to New Zealand, Australia and America. This is really about something!’ And it’s about nothing! That makes it wonderful to watch. All that nonsense.”

Wilfred: “What are we all doing together?”
