Communication from the king’s cabinet:
His Majesty De Koning today, September 5, 2025, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, with effect from 5 September 2025:
- DM van Weel appointed Foreign Minister;
- Mr. F. van Oosten appointed Minister of Justice and Security;
- F. Rijkaart appointed Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations;
- G. Moes appointed Minister of Education, Culture and Science;
- MLJ Paul appointed Minister of Social Affairs and Employment;
- Prof. Dr. Ja Bruijn appointed Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport;
As well as:
- A. de Vries appointed State Secretary for Foreign Affairs;
- Mr. ACL Rutte appointed State Secretary for Justice and Security;
- Dr. KM Becking appointed as State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science;
- Drs. EHJ Heijnen appointed State Secretary for Finance and
- Mr. S.Th.PH Palmen appointed State Secretary for Finance.
Due to these new appointments, is:
- MCG Keijzer relieved of the temporary management of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment;
- RP Brekelmans relieved the temporary management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- DM van Weel released from the management of the Ministry of Justice and Security and relieve the temporary management of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations;
- S.Th.M. Hermans relieved the temporary management of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science;
- R. Tieman relieved of the temporary management of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and
- MLJ Paul honorably fired as State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science.
The reason for the appointments is the dismissal on August 22, 2025 of the ministers and state secretaries of NSC-Huize. Since 3 June 2025, the cabinet has been outgoing, the Prime Minister and the Ministers and State Secretaries, have made their portfolio or office available to the King. The King has asked the ministers and state secretaries to continue to do all that they consider in the interest of the Kingdom necessary.
The new ministers and state secretaries were sworn in this morning before the king at the Huis ten Bosch Palace.
