On the recommendation of Minister Weerwind for Legal Protection, the Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Mr. JHJ van Meegen as president of the Amsterdam District Court. He succeeds Mrs. CM Wiertz-van Wezenbeek. The appointment will take effect on October 1, 2023.
Mr. Van Meegen has been president of the Court of Overijssel since 2018. From 2015 to 2018, he was a member of the judicial board at the same court. Before that, he was, among other things, chairman of the private law department at the Amsterdam District Court, senior commercial law judge at the Court of Appeal in The Hague and team leader administrative and family law at the Utrecht District Court.
