mr. MJ Borgers (1973) will be appointed Vice President of the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands as of September 1, 2023. This has been decided by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of Minister Weerwind for Legal Protection.
Mr Borgers is currently already a justice in the criminal chamber of the Supreme Court. Before that, he was, among other things, professor of criminal (procedural) law at the VU University in Amsterdam.
