Mr. AR (Fred) van der Winkel is appointed president of the Overijssel District Court on the recommendation of Minister for Legal Protection Franc Weerwind. The appointment will take effect on May 1, 2024. Van der Winkel is currently president of the Northern Netherlands District Court. Previously, Van der Winkel was a lawyer, judge and president of the Almelo District Court and president of the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal.
Van der Winkel is the successor to Mr. HJH (Bart) van Meegen, who has been appointed president of the Amsterdam District Court.
