mr. Drs. MJ (Marcel) de Vink will become Director-General of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Council of Ministers has approved the nomination on the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect on August 1, 2022.
Marcel de Vink has been Deputy Director-General of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since July 2020. He has been employed by this ministry since 1995, where he held various positions. He has served as director of the Western Hemisphere and ambassador to Islamabad, Pakistan.
Marcel de Vink obtained a Master’s degree in History and a Master’s degree in Law from Utrecht University.
This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
