“Appetite for Destruction” was so incredibly successful that none of the stupid, excessive/self -destructive things that Guns N ‘Roses did in the following years could reduce his legacy.
Because of the strength of these songs alone, you could go on tour with any line -up of the band that Axl Rose could put together. But not every song reaches the level of “Sweet Child O ‘Mine”, “Rocket Queen”, “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Paradise City”.
“Anything goes” is just a scarf
However, the only real letdown is “Anything goes”, which dates from time when Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin played in the band Hollywood Rose before Guns N ‘Roses. The line “My Way, Your Way, Anything Goes Tonight” is repeated until the vomiting, while Slash leans on its guitar in the talk box effect.
In the desperate effort to bring something new into her stale setlist, the band again took the song 2023 into their live show. But it is no better today than in 1987.
