The Mainhausen-based trading cooperation ANWR Group eG announced on Monday that it would sell its subsidiary EBG-Data GmbH to the Total Specific Solutions (TSS) group of companies.

According to the previous owner, EBG-Data is a software company “with a focus on merchandise management in medium-sized specialist retailers in the DACH region, Luxembourg and the Netherlands”. The company’s core product is the IPOS merchandise management system.

Martina Novotny, the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of the ANWR Group, explained the background to the decision. “By selling EBG-Data to TSS, we are setting the course for the sustainable further development of IPOS in a highly specialized environment. At the same time, we are ensuring continuity, reliability and additional innovative strength for customers,” she explained in a statement. “For us, this step is an important part of consistently aligning our digital strategy with added value for our affiliated retailers.”

Even after the sale, the “close integration” of the applications developed by EBG-Data with the digital solutions of the ANWR Group will remain, the company emphasized. “The integration of central systems such as ECC, HandelsCockpit or BrandCockpit will continue to be guaranteed,” it said in a statement. “In addition, the future product and sales roadmap will be carried out in close coordination between ANWR Group and TSS.” IPOS will also “continue to be present at ANWR Group events”.
