Karlsruher SC only missed the autumn championship in the 2nd Bundesliga by two points, but KSC is at the top of the annual table. In 2024, no team in the German lower house of football won more points than coach Christian Eichner’s team with 63. In contrast to the current table, in which only five points separate first and ninth place after the 17th matchday, the annual rankings are not quite right so tight.

The Baden team, who also scored the most goals with 72, are four or eight points ahead of their first pursuers Fortuna Düsseldorf (59), Hamburger SV (55) and Hannover 96 (55). As was the case last season, the latter are once again fighting for promotion. HSV’s 55 points represent the third-worst annual result since relegation in 2018. In each of the last three years, the Rothosen have been above the 60-point mark.

One of the newcomers of the year is SV Elversberg, which has collected 47 points in the last twelve months, beating traditional clubs such as Hertha BSC (45), Schalke 04 (43) and 1. FC in only its second season in the 2nd Bundesliga Nuremberg (38) left behind. But 1. FC Magdeburg also put in a strong second half of the year after only 18 points in the second half of the season and recorded 28 points in the first half of the 2024/25 season.

The fewest points – in a full season in the lower house – are for Eintracht Braunschweig (37), who are currently fighting to stay in the league again.
