Unknown animal abusers cut and stabbed a horse on a pasture in Hohenleipisch (Elbe-Elster district).
The animal had succumbed to its injuries, the police said on Sunday.
The strangers also laid out fiber wool on the pasture, which had been eaten by a horse. As a result, the horse’s health deteriorated so drastically that it had to be euthanized.
In Sallgast, four horses broke out of a paddock on Saturday evening, the police said. One of the horses was hit by a car on federal highway 96. The driver was slightly injured in the accident. The injured horse initially continued to run, but was later euthanized by a veterinarian because of its serious injuries.
