Angela Schijf reacts quite uncomfortably when she gets a question about the departure of Huub Stapel at Flikken Rotterdam, the sister series of her own Flikken Maastricht. “This is difficult.”

There is an incredible amount of noise around the successful Flikken-Franchise: the Maastricht edition will never be the same again due to the departure of Victor Reinier, and the Rotterdam edition now has to do without top actor Huub Stapel. After nine years, Huij will give up because, according to the actor, there is too much begun on production.

Huub is leaving

Huub says he is starting to annoy himself too much about production. “That it must be cheaper, that another day has to be finished or that you say to the grimeur: you will get 50 euros less next year,” said his complaints in a podcast. “I’m done with it. I don’t want anything to do with such a club.”

The producer, Hollands Licht, denies all of that and says: “We absolutely do not recognize ourselves in the image outlined by him. In addition, we emphasize that his statements about cuts within production are not true. We regret Huub’s departure, but respect his decision.”

What does Angela think?

What does Angela Schijf think, the star player of the Maastricht variant? She reacts uncomfortably as New Revu Asks her about it. “Stories always have a lot of shades of gray, those are never black and white operations.”

She doesn’t want to say anything about it to the journalist in question. “I would rather not comment on that. I don’t think it’s up to me to say things about it. Giving an opinion in this time, in which there is so much clarity, is difficult for me in public.”

Out of his context

Where does Angela give her opinion? “I prefer to do that in a group conversation with my loved ones or with people who are concerned, than saying something about it in an interview if you don’t mind.”

“Things are quickly magnified or pulled out of their context, and this is very precarious. It is never just one thing, isn’t it? I don’t think I’m the person to say anything about it.”
