The journalist and host Ángel de Brito revealed an unusual situation that he experienced after winning a Martín Fierro de Streaming, when the production of the event tried to withhold the statuette from him as soon as the ceremony ended. The episode, which he himself recounted publicly, generated controversy and once again put the organization of the awards presented by APTRA under the microscope.

According to De Brito, after going on stage and receiving the award, a person from the production approached him to inform him that he could not take the award, since he had to return it once the broadcast was over. “You have to give it to me,” was the phrase that, according to his story, they said to him when he got off the stage, in a reproach that took him completely by surprise.

The driver explained that something similar had never happened to him before in his years of career and that the situation was especially striking, taking into account that the prizes usually remain in the hands of the winners. According to his version, the explanation they gave him was that the statuettes were not intended to be definitively delivered, but rather were part of the scenery of the event.

The attitude generated immediate discomfort from De Brito, who questioned APTRA and the Martín Fierro de Streaming organization for what he considered unnecessary mistreatment. In his defense, he stressed that the award had been officially announced as won and that there was no prior clarification regarding a possible return of the trophy.

After the episode, the journalist decided to make public what happened and express his anger, which quickly generated an impact on social networks. Many users expressed their surprise at the situation and criticized the organization’s decision, while others pointed out the lack of clarity in the award regulations.

The controversy thus added to the discussions surrounding the delivery of the Martín Fierro de Streaming Awards, a relatively new format within the APTRA awards, and exposed an unexpected insider behind the scenes of the ceremony.
