The council chamber in Ghent extended the arrest of Anasse S. (38) on Tuesday morning. The man is a Syrian refugee, who has been in jail since last week for the murder of OCMW employee Erik B. The victim was suddenly stabbed to death by S. when he went on a routine visit in New Ghent at his home. The murder suspect must now stay in prison for at least a month longer.
