Anadolu Efes Head Coach Ergin Ataman: We couldn’t play our own game

Anadolu Efes’ head coach Ergin Ataman, who lost 83-77 to the Italian representative AX Armani Exchange Milan in the THY Europa League, said that they had a bad performance in the second half.

Ataman said at the press conference held after the match, “Milan played well in the second half. We couldn’t play our own game, we panicked and lost the match.” said.

Emphasizing that two different matches were played, Ataman said, “We played great in the first half. We were very aggressive especially in defense, we put pressure on the ball. We played our own game on offense. We scored 51 points under the perfect atmosphere. I did not think that this scenario would be reversed in the second half either. We couldn’t answer, we couldn’t keep it one-to-one. The opponent got inside numbers.” made its assessment.

Pointing out that they need to win two of the remaining three games in order to guarantee the play-offs in the league, Ataman said, “Maybe one game will be enough. We want to get the most place we can by winning one by one. Our aim will be to maintain the fifth place.” he said.
