On the afternoon of Sunday 23 February, along the A12 motorway, clashes between Perugia and Lucchese fans, both formations of the Serie C championship engaged away from Liguria (the Tuscans in Sestri Levante and the Umbrian in Chiavari in House of Entella). According to a first reconstruction of the facts provided by the Lucca police headquarters, the chaos broke out around 4 pm within the Autogrill Versilia, between Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, towards Genoa. A group of Umbrian fans would have waited for the arrival of supporters of Lucchese directed to Liguria: at the entrance of the latter in the Autogrill area, the ambush would have taken place. Over a hundred people involved in the clashes with strokes of sticks, kicks and punches, but also with the launch of smoke bombs. The traffic police intervened to close the roadway and disperse the fans. Investigations are underway on the episode to identify the managers.
