Amber (15) from Beilen honored for helping an unwell parent during a birthday party

Amber Wagtelenberg (15) from Beilen intervened when a mother of one of the children became unwell during a drop at a children’s party in the woods near Dwingeloo.

The teenager has a first aid diploma and placed the woman in the stable side position during the dropping in June 2022. She also prevented the mother’s mobile phone from being locked, allowing her to call the woman’s partner and emergency services.

The Carnegie Heroes Fund thinks that is reason enough to put Amber in the spotlight. She received a commendable certificate from deputy mayor Rico Schans on Tuesday afternoon at the town hall in Beilen.

The Heroes Fund describes the teenager as “someone who acts decisively and adequately. Because she was in possession of the first aid diploma at a young age, she was able to act in a life-saving manner.”
