Anna Anka and her husband David Johansson are in a hotel about 20 minutes from their home. Anka was previously married to singer Paul Anka.
He says that people are sitting in the corridors of the hotel trying to reach their relatives, because there is no proper internet connection in the area.
– People are stressed and sad. They have lost everything. They don’t know what to do, says Anka.
Harshly criticized the governor

Anka strongly criticizes the governor of California Gavin Newsom for the Swedish magazine Expressen.
– I am incredibly angry with our governor, who is a complete failure. He has betrayed the residents of Los Angeles and he should resign immediately, Anka says in a text message sent to Expressen.
According to Anka, there is still a strong wind in Los Angeles, up to 45 meters per second.
– The fire is now 20 minutes away from our house, and we have evacuated it because we have had no electricity or internet for two days, Anka adds.
– Everything feels incredibly stressful and sad. It feels like a nightmare that you want to wake up from.
The next president-elect of the United States Donald Trump has also criticized the governor. Newsom is a Democrat.
In Trump’s opinion, the governor is to blame for the large wildfires still continuing.
– He should have allowed the pumping of meltwater from the north, Trump wrote Truth Social – platform on Thursday.
Trump implies that Newsom removed the possibility of pumping water from the Sacramento-San Joaquion Delta. The decision was made to protect an endangered fish species in the area.
According to the authorities, the fires have now spread over an area of more than 117 square kilometers. The fire area is huge, for example Germany’s second largest lake Müritz is 117 square kilometers in size.
