Dianne van den Eng has released the rather shocking video showing how Tygo Gernandt drags her away from his home. “It is striking that she filmed that herself.”

Tygo Gernandt’s career was seriously damaged this week by a publication by Privé. The magazine published a large and thorough article about how he behaves in his private life. According to his ex-girlfriend Dianne van den Eng, he committed domestic violence, for example by dragging her from his home.

‘Is this provocation?’

Immediately after the publication of Privé, Tygo denied this, after which Dianne chose to distribute the images via the Telegraaf site. “We have all seen that video, of course,” says Story boss Guido den Aantrekker. “What I find remarkable about it is that she apparently filmed it herself with a very long arm while she was being dragged away.”

He continues at the desk Show news: “It could also be that someone else filmed that, but that seems quite illogical to me. Could that also be seen, for example in a legal sense, as a form of provocation? You claim to have been seriously abused, but you film it yourself?”

Take away

Colleague Bram Moszkowicz points out that Tygo apparently allowed that filming. “That may have played a role in the considerations of the police and the judiciary. She filmed it, he apparently also left the possibility that she filmed it, because he must have seen that and he did not take that phone away. He could easily have done that physically.”

Guido: “Or he didn’t realize it, of course, that’s possible.”

Bram: “That is also possible, but that will also have been taken into account by the police. He also sees that video and will also have asked questions about it.”

Statement

The damage to Tygo’s career is immediately visible: a press day was supposed to take place today for his new children’s film, but all press has been cancelled. Bram: “You could also make a statement that you are in control, like: ‘I am now going to speak for three minutes and then we will talk about the film.’”

“What could also be a solution is for him to just deal with it, to sit down and say: ‘You have fifteen minutes to question me about that subject and then we’ll go to the movie.’ You might consider that.”

On the attack

Guido thinks that is a naive thought. “That’s a bit of a utopia. I think it will already go completely off the rails, because there will be thirty camera crews who want to speak to him and the whole purpose – promotion for the film – will then be defeated.”

According to Bram, Tygo should in any case be much more aggressive. “I would go on the attack. Again: Evert also knows what he is doing, and I don’t know what happened. If he really thinks he is innocent, I always say: ‘Then you have to go on the attack.’ Otherwise it will fester.”
