Ski racer Thomas Dreßen has to watch the last alpine competitions of the year. The 30-year-old Mittenwalder wrote on Instagram on Wednesday (December 27th, 2023) that he was “Not able to race in Bormio this year due to a virus infection. We tried everything, but I’m not healthy enough.”

Departure on Thursday, Super G on Friday

On Thursday (December 28th, 2023, live on Erste) and Friday (December 29th, 2023, live on Erste) there will be a downhill run and a Super G in Bormio, Italy, starting at 11:15 a.m. These are the last men’s races of the calendar year. The former Kitzbühel winner Dreßen had to miss the two downhill training sessions on Tuesday (December 27th, 2023) and Wednesday (December 28th, 2023) due to illness. The best placement this winter remains Dreßen’s 18th place in mid-December at the Super G in Val Gardena.

Training: Jocher as 6th and 22nd best German

The Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde won the final downhill training on Wednesday. The best of the four remaining Germans was Simon Jocher. As training 22. but he was already 2.16 seconds behind Kilde. Josef Ferstl was 35th in training. (+2, 68 seconds), Romes Baumann -42. (+ 3.29 seconds), Andreas Sander -44. (+ 3.46 seconds).

In the first training session on Tuesday, Jocher achieved a top placing in sixth place (+1.36 seconds). The Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin won the training ride.
