Seven confederates
Without the injured Lara Gut-Behrami, the Swiss don’t have a particularly good chance in this discipline. Even the all-rounder Michelle Gisin, who is also down, can’t change that. Last weekend, Malorie Blanc (start number 18) provided a ray of hope in sixth place. Shortly beforehand it is Joana Hählen’s (17) turn. We are expecting a total of seven confederates, including Janine Schmitt (23), Jasmina Suter (26) and Jasmine Flury (31).

Yesterday’s winner
About a fifth of the starting field consists of Austrians. Cornelia Hütter (start number 12) was the best of them in St. Moritz in ninth place. Yesterday’s winner is in good shape and we’ll keep an eye on the Styrian. We also have an eye on Christina Ager (2), Ariane Rädler (11), Olympic silver medalist Mirjam Puchner (19), Nina Ortlieb (21), Nadine Fest (25) and Magdalena Egger (29). We will take care of the other ÖSV athletes during the race.

German duo
The starting field includes two Germans. There is Emma Aicher (start number 14), who has already been on the podium three times in various disciplines this winter. But in the Super G, of all places, things didn’t really work out. However, there was only one last weekend in St. Moritz. The all-rounder was eliminated early there. A little later follows Kira Weidle-Winkelmann (20), who, as second downhill yesterday, has gained a lot of self-confidence in order to now also attack in the not-so-loved Super G.

Criterium de la Premiere Neige
As was the case for the men last weekend, the women’s competitions are also held under the motto “criterion of the first snow”. This is a tradition at the beginning of every winter in Val d’Isère in the huge Espace Killy ski area. On the OK slope, named after men Henri Oreiller and Jean-Claude Killy, a 2,038 meter long competition course awaits the women. From the start at 2,408 meters, Stefan Abplanalb’s course shows the way to the valley over the 588 meters in altitude. The Swiss coach scored 41 goals. 53 athletes from 15 nations want to take on this task.
