Finland Eduard Hallberg22, slalomed second at the World Cup on Wednesday in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy. The ranking is the best of Hallberg’s career in the World Cup.

Hallberg led the race after the opening count. He had never been in that position before in his career.

In the second round, he struggled to win over France Clement Noelia against. There was enough momentum, and the battle for victory was fierce. Hallberg was still number one in the last intermediate place, but had to give way at the finish with a difference of 0.12 seconds to Noel.

The third in the race was Noel’s compatriot Paco Rassatwhich moved up 13 places in the second round.

Hallberg, who started the season convincingly, took third place in the Levi World Cup slalom. It was the first podium finish of Hallberg’s career.

It has already been 18 years since the last Finnish victory in men’s alpine skiing. It happened in December 2007 when Kalle Palander ranked first in Alta Badia.
