Injured Bayern star back on the pitch

Five days after his injury, Alphonso Davies is back on the pitch. He will still miss the duel against BVB.
Alphonso Davies has returned to the pitch. The FC Bayern full-back was back in action on Thursday at Säbener Straße. The German record champions announced this on social media.
Davies tore a muscle fiber in his right back thigh last Saturday during Munich’s 3-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Canadian had to be substituted in the 50th minute. Bayern’s sports director Max Eberl said after the game: “It looked like it would be longer.”
Exactly how long Davies will be missing from coach Vincent Kompany’s team remains unclear. His return to the training pitch after just five days is certainly a positive sign. The 25-year-old may be available to his team again sooner than expected.
One thing is certain, however: Davies will definitely miss the Bundesliga “classic” away to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (from 6:30 p.m. in the t-online live ticker). The Munich team would like to take another big step towards the championship title at BVB.
