Almost eight years ago it kept the whole country in its grip: the revelations that came out about Job Gosschalk, at the time the most powerful casting director in our country. He appeared to show bizarre cross -border behavior among actors, including big names. For example, he asked them at his home to get off their clothes.

Suicide

The stories came out through new Revu journalist Frank Waals. The journalist has forever changed the life of the casting director. His reporting was therefore effective, but at some point that also caused fear. What exactly is that?

Frank tells in the Mouthpiece podcast: “Both at Job Gosschalk and at Marco Borsato we have sometimes taken back gas, from: okay, now we have already told this story, then we can continue to repeat for clickbait, but at Gosschalk, for example, the story was that he was considering committing suicide.”

Was Job that really planning? You can never know that, says Frank. “You don’t know if that is nonsense, whether it is larch cake, whether it is serious. It was because of all the fuss that arose and there I was a driver of at the time. So then I also chose to take some gas back and just leave it.”

The journalist decided not to continue. “The story is told, people know how it is and if there is really an update that adds something to the story, then I think it has value, but not to bring it. I also know that not every editor -in -chief thinks so.”
