All screws: this is what will happen with the bicycle and pedestrian bridge in the Leyens

The bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the Asiaweg is a bit bare. The wooden handrails are gone and screws are sticking out of the concrete. What will happen to it?

Who doesn’t know it: the bridge for cyclists, mopeds and walkers that connects the Seghwaert and Leyens districts and forms an important route towards the De Leyens shopping centre, Alfrink College and LangeLand Hospital.

Obsolete bridge railings

According to the municipality, new bridge railings will be installed. “The old ones were made of wood and were very outdated. The new ones are made of steel and are gray powder coated. They are expected to be posted next week. The handrails on the Asiaweg / Lissenvaart will also be replaced,” said a spokesperson.
