Alice in Chains had to cancel a concert planned for the early May due to the health problems of the Drummer Sean Kinney. Now the drummer speaks up in this regard via social media.
“The problem requires immediate attention”
Actually, the Grunge band should have played in Connecticut on May 8, but shortly before the show began, the band announced on Instagram that the appearance and other planned shows had to be canceled.
The official statement said: “After careful consideration and on the advice of medical specialists, we made the decision to cancel our upcoming festival appearances and the headline shows from Alice in Chains. Although we were very happy to play live again, Sean’s health is currently a top priority. The problem requires immediate attention, but its long-term prognosis is positive.”

Almost a week later, drummer Sean Kinney then spoke personally on social media, in a humorous and honest post entitled “The Good, The Bad & The WTF?”
In it he first thanked the fans for their understanding and apologized to everyone who was affected by the cancellations: “I was really looking forward to going on stage again with the band. It was a difficult but necessary decision.”
