The latest form crisis made Alexander Zverev troubled. In Munich he now reached the semi -finals, but also had to do with a fan.
An interjection from the ranks disturbed the game – but Alexander Zverev did not let it get out of it. At 5: 5 in the second set of the quarter-finals at the ATP tournament in Munich, a viewer loudly called “You Scheiß-Frauenschläger!” In the direction of the best German tennis player. Zverev interrupted his serve and looked irritated in the direction of the intermediate caller, who then left the Center Court.
“There is always one or two idiots in the stadium. This is not a problem,” Zverev commented on the incident after his match at Sky. The scene reminded of a disturbance during the award ceremony at the Australian Open when a woman also referred to previous allegations against the athlete.
Last June, a procedure against Zverev before the Tiergarten district court in Berlin was terminated against a money requirement. The decision was based on an extrajudicial agreement with the co -plaintiff. A admission of guilt was not associated with this, Zverev is still considered innocent.
Despite the unrest, Zverev fought with 6: 7 (6: 8), 7: 6 (7: 3), 6: 4 against the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor in the semi-finals of the ATP tournament in Munich. He ended his series from six tournaments without moving into the preliminary round.
“At the end of the day I am very happy that I won this match,” said Zverev at Sky. “He opened for the match and I have never born him beforehand. I’m glad I am in the semi -finals.”
After the incident with the viewer, the match turned. Zverev took over the initiative in front of a good 6,000 spectators and secured the second section in the tiebreak. “To be honest, I was completely mentally out of the match, I didn’t return well, didn’t play well. I had no break chances,” said Zverev about his performance. “The spectators carried me through the match at 5: 4 and the tie break. Then I also won through the spectators.”
In the decisive third set, he took the surcharge to 4: 3 and already had three match balls in 5: 3. The Dutch resigned this, but Zverev then did not let himself be duped in his own service and was able to cheer after 3:13 hours. He now meets the winner of the game Fabian Marozsan (Hungary) against Zizou Berg (Belgium).
