This football season, RTV Drenthe will present the Onze Club Podcast every Tuesday afternoon. An audio show about amateur football in Drenthe and the TV program of the same name from the provincial broadcaster.
Podcast makers Stijn Steenhuis and Tom Meijers receive HZVV’er Alex Zomer this week. The 34-year-old central defender has a past with Hollandscheveld and MSC, but has now been playing in the red and white of HZVV for seven seasons.
Zomer talks about the hatred towards his club. “I also had that when I played for Hollandscheveld myself. At HZVV there is always the following: ‘those docks’. But when you play there yourself, you only notice that it is a really warm club,” says Zomer. His team is currently fifth in the mixed first division J. “Too low,” says Zomer. “We would be disappointed if we could not compete for the title.”
