Alcaraz already in Barcelona: “I won’t miss Sinner”

Monte Carlo-Barcelona in the morning and immediately a sponsor commitment together with Lorenzo Musetti. Last year the Italian number 2 was in the Monte Carlo final and things went differently, thanks to Lorenzo’s injury. This week the two meet again at the Catalan ATP 500 which yesterday already saw the exit of Jack Draper, stopped by yet another physical problem, this time with a knee.

Carlos was the protagonist of the pre-tournament press conference in which he returned to the final with Sinner and to the race for number 1 who could recover by winning the Catalan title: “It’s an interesting fight for us for the ranking but I think we both have a clear idea in our minds that the important thing is to constantly grow. He’s one of the players who makes me a better person. He makes me understand my weaknesses and what I really need to focus on in every training session and in every match. It’s fantastic to have him as a role model and to see him achieve all the goals he’s achieving. But to say the least truth… I won’t miss it this week,” he admitted with a laugh. And then he added an almost romantic anecdote: “While I was going to my room, I saw him diving into the pool. I stopped to admire that moment and record it. I think it’s also a great way to show the world that, despite the great rivalry on the pitch, despite the fact that we fight for the same goals, we can be good people and have an excellent relationship off the pitch”
