Aces players and supporters thanked each other after the end of the season. The captain swallowed back tears.

Hunger grew while eating.

Outsiders didn’t expect much from Pori Äss in the playoffs, but the team that finished eighth in the regular season was finally close to the medal games.

After the stalemate in the quarterfinals, which ended in the Ässie’s defeat, a great moment was seen at the ice rink in Lappeenranta, when the Ässie players arrived on the ice to thank the supporters.

You can watch the meeting between supporters and players in the video above.

Captain of Aces Jan-Mikael Järvinen thanked the players with a hug when leaving the ice.

– It’s sad, of course. We experienced quite a lot of adversity throughout the season. We came through the mud. There was a lot of writing and all, but here it is. If we had been better in special situations, we would have been in the top four. It’s the little things that matter, Järvinen said.

Järvinen played in Ässi for four seasons. Mightily according to the man moves to Ilves.

– Yes, the man still has energy. Let’s chew this out first, Järvinen said about his future.

– In my own way, it was a difficult decision to leave. However, there are other things in life than hockey, and sometimes you have to weigh them as well. Based on that, we will move on.

Järvinen, who came from Pirkanmaa, is raised by Ilves.

Järvinen estimates that Ässät has moved forward as an organization and as a team during his time.

The “Professor” swallowed tears when talking about his time in Pori.

– I think we are a pretty believable gang at the moment. Certainly this season the hunger also grew outside the club, and the supporters noticed that there are opportunities here.

– This should be an attractive destination for promising players. I’m really proud of what caste we’ve gotten the Aces into. It’s not just others anymore, it’s real contender.
