Alba Berlin has continued its negative run in the Euroleague and conceded the fifth defeat in a row. The basketball Bundesliga team clearly lost 86:101 (47:57) at the Turkish champions Fenerbahce Istanbul.
Alba remains bottom of the table and threatens to slowly lose touch. Best Berlin throwers were Yanni Wetzell with 13 and Yovel Zoosman with twelve points.
With the exception of long-term absentee Marcus Eriksson, coach Israel Gonzalez had all the players available again. Less than 45 hours after the home defeat against Monaco, the German champions were trailing behind. Especially under the basket, the guests had problems to counter the physique of the Turks.
But at the end of the first quarter, Alba came into play better offensively. They were able to shorten their time down to two points several times in the second section. But the equalization did not succeed at first. Shortly before the break, a weak phase of the guests made the deficit double-digit again.
After the break, Fenerbahce had everything under control. The hosts temporarily pulled away to 20 points (61:81). The Berliners continued to struggle, but the rate of distance shots in particular was simply too weak. Alba could no longer endanger the hosts and lost significantly in the end.
