Ajax striker Godts has been sidelined for months with a hamstring injury

Ajax will not have access to attacker Mika Godts in the coming months. The 18-year-old Belgian is struggling with a hamstring injury. Godts was injured last Friday in Jong Ajax’s match against FC Den Bosch.

Godts played almost the entire match in Den Bosch and made it 3-3 from a penalty just before the end. Disaster struck in stoppage time and with no opponent around, the wing attacker suffered an injury. Examination on Tuesday revealed the severity of the injury and it now appears that Godts has suffered a tear in his hamstring.

Godts played five league games for the first team this season as a substitute. He also played twelve times for Jong Ajax in the Kitchen Champion Division. Godts exchanged the Belgian club KRC Genk for Ajax in January. Last summer he extended his contract in Amsterdam by two years until mid-2027.

After the match against FC Den Bosch, teammate Tristan Gooijer responded to Godts’ injury in the video below.
