Ajax striker Brobbey is disappointed with a missed pin despite double blow: “Sick for two days”

Brian Brobbey was the most talked about player after Ajax’s 4-1 win over RKC Waalwijk. The striker scored twice, but was also very disappointed that he missed a penalty. “It would have been my first hat trick.”

“Of course I am happy with the three points, but I am disappointed with the missed penalty. I will be sick for two more days and then we will continue,” said Brobbey.

“Brobbey instills fear in the opponent”

Ajax coach John van ‘t Schip

Ajax’s top scorer with eleven goals also addressed the alleged interest of Manchester United. “I have read it too, but I am staying in Amsterdam. They can try it again in the summer. I used to text Erik ten Hag a lot, but now less so. I also have a new song.”

Despite the missed penalty, Ajax coach John van ‘t Schip was very satisfied with his striker’s contribution. “Brobbey instills fear in the opponent. With his strength he is very dangerous. He is also starting to turn away more and more easily. He also has an eye for his fellow players and his running actions are getting better. All this makes him a dangerous striker.”

Good and bad phases

Van ‘t Schip was satisfied with the result, but not always with the game shown. “Even with a 4-1 score, RKC came through too easily. That shouldn’t happen. We had good and bad phases today. But I do see progress,” said Van ‘t Schip.

Ajax’s next match is next Saturday at 9 p.m. The Amsterdammers will then visit Heracles Almelo.
