Ajax lose 3rd top player to Premier League: Kudus moves to West Ham

Only Haller was more expensive on “Hammers”

Ajax Amsterdam have lost their third top-flight to the Premier League this summer after (for €40m to Arsenal) and (for €38m to West Ham). West Ham United announced on Sunday the signing of Mohammed Kudus, who joins Álvarez at the east London side. Together, the trio has a total value of 117 million euros, and the added fees are also included in this range.

According to Ajax, a transfer fee of 43 million euros will flow. which could grow to up to EUR 46 million. According to “The Athletic”, the Dutch also secured a resale participation of ten percent. This takes Amsterdam’s earnings to €156.4m, only twice in their history have they collected more from player sales in one season. On the expenditure side, there are 78.3 million euros.

At West Ham, Kudus has become the club’s second-most expensive signing – only Sébastien Haller costing more on his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019/20. In addition, he is now the second most expensive Ghanaian in history.
