Just like Erik ten Hag and Paul Simonis, traveler was mentioned as a possible successor to Francesco Farioli at Ajax. Ten Hag reached an agreement on Monday with the German Bayer Leverkusen and Simonis extended his contract with Go Ahead last week, also until 2027.
The traveler born in Amstelveen played 72 times for Oranje. As a trainer he previously worked at Sparta Rotterdam and Ajax. His new contract with the KNVB runs up to and including the European Championship from 2027 in Albania. The coming European Championship in Slovakia starts on 11 June.
