Airbnb has chosen to recognize the values of Italian hospitality for six categories
Airbnb is an ever-evolving ecosystem. There are now more than 5 million hosts worldwide, for a total of 8 million homes available for over 2 billion users. Through a survey, Airbnb recognized the differences between Italian hosts – that is, homeowners – compared to those from the rest of the world. Italy remains the home of hospitality and this certifies the strength of tourism in our country.

Airbnb celebrated this authenticity by announcing the first edition of “The Masters of Hospitality 2025”, the recognition dedicated to six Italian hosts who transform every stay into an unforgettable experience, because they perfectly embody the values of Italian hospitality, from North to South. The awarded categories were: “Best quality-price accommodation”, “Best accommodation for families”, “Exceptional hospitality”, “Best accommodation for Milan-Cortina 2026”, “Extraordinary experience” and “Best rural accommodation”.
authenticity

In Italy, hospitality comes in a thousand different shades: if in the North, the approach is more measured, in the South the welcome is pure conviviality. However, one aspect is identical: the search for and attachment to authenticity as an indispensable value. This is especially true for the over 55s (69%), for whom hospitality is synonymous with human warmth, much more than the efficiency of services (8%).

The awarded hosts talked about their experiences and their method of approaching work. They welcome guests from all over the world, but everyone has their own way of making their stay fully enjoyable. Trying to satisfy customer requests, even the most bizarre, and organizing courses and guided tours. Then there is a clarification to be made. When a host works well, guaranteeing quality and reliability, he obtains the “super host” recognition badge. It is based on objective parameters, such as accuracy, and rewards customer satisfaction. There are approximately 68 million worldwide.
