The coming days could be crucial at FC Bayern: According to “Bild”, Alphonso Davies’ agent Nick Househ is in Munich to negotiate a contract extension for the left-back. The 24-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and the club management seems optimistic that an agreement can be reached.
According to the report, sports director Max Eberl and sports director Christoph Freund see progress in the talks. If the new contract comes about, it would be an important step for Bayern, who are also working on contract extensions with Jamal Musiala (21) and Joshua Kimmich (29).
Alphonso Davies is not only important for Munich, but is also very popular with clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United. A contract extension with the Canadian would therefore be a signal to the competition.
It was already planned in November that Househ would be there for the game against Paris, but instead of a personal meeting, only a video conference took place. Now the negotiations are to be intensified. Bayern hopes to be able to tie Davies, the first of several key players, to the club on a long-term basis.
